In 2008 (Saturday 15th November, to be precise) a Big Draw Festival event was held in regional Victoria at the Avoca Project (run by artist Lyndal Jones) and SFN was invited by Artplay’s creative producer, Simon Spain, to bring our microscopes and drawing equipment along.
Over the course of the day, members of the local Avoca community dropped in on all the various drawing activities on offer. These included taking a closer look at the Avoca environment using our microscopes (and making drawings too), sketching rocks (with artist Lucy Griggs), making miniature self- portraits (with artist Simon Spain) and a collaborative landscape drawing (with artist Rachel Jessie Rae)….among many others!
