Scale Free Network were invited by the Korean National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) to participate in the inauguration of this new gallery. Prior to the opening, we travelled to Seoul to install The Elaboratorium in the Media Lab. Along with Philip Beesley (Epiphyte Chamber) and a handful or other artists we were a part of the ‘The Aleph Project’, curated by Joo-young Sohn.

Our fellow artists in ‘The Aleph Project’ were Phillip Beesley, Edwin van der Heide, Han Tesoc, Far East Network, Kim Kyungjin, Tacit Group and SFN’s own Briony Barr, whose work ‘Drawing on Complexity: Experiment #4’ – a collaboration with physicist, Andrew Melatos- was also performed as part of this show.

For this inauguration, the MMCA opened a four other exhibitions, which included some really great works by Tacita Dean, Kim Jones and a heartbreakingly beautiful work ‘The Scene of the Crime’ by Amar Kanwar – all part of the ‘Connecting_Unfolding’ exhibition.

After the exhibition opened, Vogue Korea visited ours and some surrounding exhibitions, as a backdrop for a fashion shoot for the December 2013 issue of Vogue. Photos on our Facebook page.
